This is a partial listing of our outings. The complete list along with our trips and social events is available to all members. See Membership Form. All outings listed are free of charge and open to public participation unless otherwise noted.

October 4 - SUNDAY
NORTH COUNTY SUNDAY RIDE
Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills. The 1st, 2nd & 5th Sunday of each month, meet at 9 am behind Barnes & Noble Bookstore in the Del Mar Highlands Shopping Ctr at the corner of Del Mar Heights Rd & El Camino Real, 1/2 mi E of I-5. Route & leaders vary each week. Come for the social pace of this ride of about 25 mi. Leader: Ellen Scott, 858-456-7849.

October 4 - SUNDAY
ELFIN FOREST EXPRESS
Difficulty: over 35 mi, moderate hills, 14-16 mph average pace. Meet at 8:30 am behind the Barnes & Noble bookstore in the Del Mar Highlands Shopping Center, corner of Del Mar Hts & El Camino Real. We head to Rancho Sante Fe then east on Del Dios Hwy. to Escondido with a return thru Elfin Forest and the Coast. Snack stop at San Elijo Hills Coffee Shop as we exit Elfin Forest. Approx. 50 mi. Note! temps in the 90's may move Ride to cooler Rancho Sante Fe and Coastal. Leader: Myles Pomeroy, 858-565-7262.

October 11 - SUNDAY

Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills. October 11 - SUNDAY
EAST COUNTY LOOP EXPRESS
Difficulty: over 35 mi, steep grade(s), 12-14 mph average pace. Meet at 8:30 am at Kit Carson Park Escondido (I-15 N exit Via Rancho Pkwy E 1/2 mi just past Beethoven St & N Cnty Fair, left first entrance into Park). Formerly, Lake Wohlford Ride, but we skip the narrow and steep climb up Wohlford for the newly completed Valley Center Rd. over the pass. Loop west on Lilac/Old Castle, south on Champagne and back to Escondido. Snack at Bates Nut Farm. 45 mi. Hill Climbing Month. A three mile, a two mile, and a one mile climb, plus many rollers. Note, inland temps in mid 90's or Santa Ana winds will move start location to Mission Bay for cooler ride with equal mileage but less climbing. Leader: Bob Mueller, 858-974-4871.

October 17 - SATURDAY
TUCALOTA HILLS LOOP
Difficulty: over 35 mi, moderate hills, 14-16 mph average pace. Meet at 9:30 am near Prestos Cafe (30590 Rancho California Rd) in the Palomar Shopping Center parking lot (NW corner of Rancho California and Margarita Rd 2 mi E of the Rancho California exit off I-15) for this 40 mi scenic loop thru the Tucalota Hills in Temecula’s wine country. At the end of the ride, we’ll join the social riders for a light lunch ($) at the Mt Palomar Winery. Rain cancels. Leader: David Johnson, 858-483-5877.

October 17 - SATURDAY
WINERY LOOP
Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills, 10-12 mph average pace. Meet at 9:30 am near Prestos Cafe (30590 Rancho California Rd) in the Palomar Shopping Ctr parking lot (NW corner of Rancho Calif. & Margarita Rd, 2 mi E of the Rancho Calif. exit off I-15) for this 25 mi scenic loop thru the gentle hills of Temecula's wine country. We'll do some wine tasting at our favorite wineries and conclude with lunch ($) at Mt Palomar Winery. Rain cancels. Day of ride cell number: 619-838-0289. Leader: Fern Siegel, 619-583-3261.

October 18 - SUNDAY
MISSION BAY SUNDAY RIDE
Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills. On the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month, join us for the Sunday Ride starting from Mission Bay. Meet at 9 am in the parking lot immediately north of the Mission Bay Visitor Center. Route & leaders vary each week. Come for the social pace of this ride of about 25 mi. October 18 - SUNDAY
SANTA ROSA PLATEAU EXPRESS
Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, steep grade(s), 14-16 mph average pace. It’s only gravity! Meet at 8:30 am in the Temecula Hampton Inn parking lot (28190 Jefferson Ave) for this challenging 35 mi loop by the beautiful reserves and ranches of the Santa Rosa Plateau. This ride has a 2 mi gradual climb up to the plateau, some steep hills, and a 1 mi 27% grade descent from the plateau. Bring 2 water bottles and a snack. Rain cancels. October 18 - SUNDAY
VINEYARD LOOP
Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills, 10-12 mph average pace. Meet at 9:00 am in the Temecula Hampton Inn parking lot (28190 Jefferson Ave)for a 25 mi loop through the Temecula countryside and along vineyard row. Sample local wares at wineries along the route. October 24 - SATURDAY
LET’S DO A HIKE
Difficulty: up to 13 mi, basically flat. Let’s celebrate the cool, clear fall weather with a socially-paced 5 to 6 mi hike, at a location that’s easy to reach in San Diego. We’ll meet at 9 am. Bring a snack, plenty of water, sunscreen, and trail walking shoes or hiking boots. Meeting location will be given when you RSVP. If less than 5 respond the hike will be canceled. October 25 - SUNDAY
MISSION BAY SUNDAY RIDE
Difficulty: 21 to 35 mi, rolling hills. On the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month, join us for the Sunday Ride starting from Mission Bay. Meet at 9 am in the parking lot immediately north of the Mission Bay Visitor Center. Route & leaders vary each week. Come for the social pace of this ride of about 25 mi. October 25 - SUNDAY
DEL MAR TO LAKE POWAY EXPRESS RIDE
Difficulty: over 35 mi, moderate hills, 14-16 mph average pace. Meet at 8:30 am behind Barnes & Noble Bookstore in the Del Mar Highlands Shopping Ctr at the corner of Del Mar Heights Rd & El Camino Real, 1/2 mi E of I-5, for a 50+ mi ride to Lake Poway and back via Lake Hodges. October 31 - SATURDAY
LAGUNA COLORFUL AUTUMN SCENIC RIDE
Difficulty: over 35 mi, steep grade(s), 10-12 mph average pace. Meet at 8:30 am behind Major's Coffee Shop in Pine Valley for this 55 mi colorful autumn forest and hilly route that includes a climb of Mount Laguna via Kitchen Creek & Sunrise Hwy. Back via Cuyamaca Lk. Early out option for shorter miles. Come prepared for heat going up and cold going down. Carpooling encouraged. Leader: Hao Zhang, 858-623-0628.
