Want to Help the Environment in San Diego?
Join CAN, the Conservation Action Network of the San Diego Chapter of the Sierra Club.
CAN is a network of local citizens who have agreed to write letters, make phone calls, etc. to help San Diegos environment.
The CAN steering committee coordinates the effort by tracking local issues through contacts with other activists in the Sierra Club. When an issue comes up where public pressure will make a difference, an Alert is written and published to the members of the network. The Alert describes the issue and tells you specifically what to do to help, such as write a letter, make a phone call, etc. -- all things that dont require a lot of time, but really make a BIG difference!
Almost all of the Alerts deal with issues local to San Diego and Imperial Counties. The topics span the full range of environmental issues. Check out current and past alerts using the links to the left.
