Help deliver Anti-Sprawl message to County Board of Supervisors

***** May 21, 2003 *****

A couple days ago CAN sent out an Alert regarding the revised County General Plan (GP 2020) which will be under consideration at the upcoming meeting of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, May 21.

If you haven't done so already, please take the time to call or FAX the County Supervisors regarding this important issue on Monday or Tuesday, and, even better, plan to attend the meeting on Wednesday.

There is also one more thing you can do....Tomorrow, Monday, the Sierra Club will be holding a media event at 12 at the County Administration Building in downtown San Diego.  At the event we will be presenting the 8000 signed postcards the Sierra Club has collected (with the aid of CAN members!) asking the County to adhere to the principles of Smart Growth and not allow unaffordable, 1-10 acre estate sprawl to gobble up the rural, back county of San Diego County.  The more people we have at the event , the more likely we will have good press coverage so if you can possibly make it we would love you to be there and show your support for the cause.

Location:  Front of the County Administration Building, east-facing Front Steps, 1600 Pacific Coast Highway, San Diego
Time: 12 noon (press has been invited at 12:15)
