Parks Committee

Purpose

  • To work with local, state and federal jurisdictions to promote responsible management of our public park lands.
  • Example Activities

  • San Diego River Park - Working with local non-profit organizations, as well as Assemblymember Chris Kehoe's Select Committee on Park and River Restoration, to establish a 52 mile river park from Ocean Beach to Julian.
  • San Dieguito River Valley Park - Participation in the CAC to the Joint Powers Authority to support development and expansion of this park resource extending from Del Mar to Vulcan Mtn.
  • Commenting on trails use plans for the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
  • Participation in Anza-Borrego State Park Management Plan preparation.
  • Overseeing open space park systems throughout San Diego and Imperial counties.
  • Meetings
    7:00 P.M. the 4th Monday of each month (Urban Environment Forum) at the chapter office.
