Steward Training

Steward Training
(3-4 people max each group, 3-4 hours each group review of procedures, first come first served)
Friday, March 22nd, 9 am to 3 pm.
Saturday, March 23rd, 9 am to 3 pm.
Interested in becoming a Steward for the Mt. Laguna facility? Here is your chance. This weekend is one of the two times a year that club members can start the training to be a volunteer Steward. The Stewards are the persons authorized to use the facility to host members, their friends and families and groups who want to stay at Mt. Laguna.

Please RSVP to if you plan to attend any of the weekend events.

Steward training is part of the processes used to qualify Sierra Club members to host the Foster Lodge and Cabin, for each program year. Steward qualification is a combination of formal training, hands on shadowing with a qualified host Steward, and participation in annual work parties and tasks. Steward training is offered quarterly and Stewards are evaluated and eligible for reappointment each year in December.

In keeping with the mission-related changes, the title of "Hosts" is being changed to "Stewards" and requirements and scheduling rules have been documented in the "Mt. Laguna Operational Plan and Rules." Please check our website or contact the office for a copy. Applications are available through the office, or here.
