Our members include professionals, enthusiasts, and amateurs spanning every branch of photography. We have members who have been photographers their entire lives, as well as members who have purchased their first camera and want to learn more about the wonderful field of photography.

Photo Video West, the go-to event for photography enthusiasts on the West Coast, returns to San Diego April 27-28, 2013. Previously known as Photo Expo West, Photo Video West is a photography and video expo featuring two-action packed days filled with seminars led by photography pros, live interactive demos, product specials, photo contests, portfolio reviews, raffle prizes and more! Thousands of photographers from all levels will gather to learn, share, network and expand their photographic abilities.

Photography & Video Seminars: Expand your photographic abilities by attending seminars led by celebrated photographers, local industry experts, renowned videographers, and other truly amazing talents.

Photo Contest: Enter your work into the World Cup of Photography photo contest for a chance to win cash and prizes.

Portfolio Review Sessions: For an additional fee, attendees can sign up for portfolio review sessions to have their work viewed by a trained professional.

May 11 Photo Camp
(formerly known as "Lodge Weekend")

This year it will be held at a new location in Descanso. That's only 45 minutes east of downtown San Diego off Hwy 8.

Camp Oliver is used as a retreat center during the year and as a kids camp during the summer months.

May 11. It's going to be a long, action packed day of lectures, slideshows and shooting practice (on subjects such as art theory, macro photography, HDR, landscape composition, portraiture and capturing subject in action and photojournalism), ending in a potluck dinner and a slideshow of participant slides (up to 20 images per person - sized to specs on website.)

There is an option -at no additional charge - to sleep over at the camp in the dorms or in your own tent. A campfire is planned after the final slideshow and a hike should take place in the morning.

Bring a sack lunch for Saturday and a potluck dish for Saturday night. Bring images for the participant slideshow, a notebook, pen, some warm clothing.
Cost is $25 for Sierra Photo Club members and $50 for non-members (which gives you 1 year of club membership)

Registration is from 8-9 am on Saturday morning.
