May 11 Photo Camp
(formerly known as "Lodge Weekend")

This year it will be held at a new location in Descanso. That's only 45 minutes east of downtown San Diego off Hwy 8.

Camp Oliver is used as a retreat center during the year and as a kids camp during the summer months.

May 11. It's going to be a long, action packed day of lectures, slideshows and shooting practice (on subjects such as art theory, macro photography, HDR, landscape composition, portraiture and capturing subject in action and photojournalism), ending in a potluck dinner and a slideshow of participant slides (up to 20 images per person - sized to specs on website.)

There is an option -at no additional charge - to sleep over at the camp in the dorms or in your own tent. A campfire is planned after the final slideshow and a hike should take place in the morning.

Bring a sack lunch for Saturday and a potluck dish for Saturday night. Bring images for the participant slideshow, a notebook, pen, some warm clothing.
Cost is $25 for Sierra Photo Club members and $50 for non-members (which gives you 1 year of club membership)

Registration is from 8-9 am on Saturday morning.

Summer 2013
June, July, Aug, September 2013 Sierra Photo Club and MOPA Summer Lecture/Workshop Series - A kick off lecture is held in June, followed by a series a three workshops (one each month). This will be our third year working with the Museum of Photographic Arts. We expect to have another successful and sold out season with affordable rates, enthusiastic participants and very knowledgeable instructors.

What We Do
Monthly Club Meetings
Our monthly meetings are held January - November on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The meeting starts at 7 PM at Wesley Palms.

Club Outings and Events
The Sierra Club offers outings throughout the year which are open to dues-paid members only. Events include the MoPA Summer Series Workshops and others that are open to members and non-members. Members receive a discount.

Idea Sharing
Idea sharing events are available from our members year-round. They include how-to's, strategy, and different genres of photography.

Annual Retreat
The club has an annual retreat for our members. You will have the chance to spend an entire weekend with all of your fellow members.

Annual Holiday Party
In place of our December meeting, we have our annual holiday party. We usually have a pot luck for everybody to share. We then have an extended MemberShare for all to enjoy.
