We are San Diego's largest photography organization with over 140 active, young outdoor photographers. We love to share everything we know with everyone. We are always out photographing. We range from pre-beginners through full-time professionals who love to share. We shoot every kind of digital and film camera imaginable - just like you!
If you are just starting you'll find more concerned and experienced help here than in any photo class or workshop. We have had pre-beginners join us just to learn the basics and beginners join us to become published full-time professionals, and we have professionals join us to rediscover the fun in photography. If you are a veteran professional you'll find the inspiration here to push your art to the next level. Most of us enjoy nature and outdoor photography, and others do every kind of photography imaginable.
Everyone is encouraged to join us.
We meet at 7PM on the 3rd Thursday of the month at Wesley Palms, 2404 Loring Street, Pacific Beach 92109. Directions. All meetings are free.
We feature a presentation from a renowned photographer each month. After the presentation we drop our own digital images or 35mm slides in the projector to share. Please follow these instructions if you'd like to share digital images.
Even more important than our meetings are our many opportunities to photograph together. We photograph everywhere, from Balboa Park to foreign countries. See the calendar for the latest updates. Again, all are welcome to join us. We have a scheduled outing about once a month, and all of us are always out shooting something every weekend so just ask if you don't see any outings today.
Membership is open to everyone. Just come to any of the meetings, or send check to Sierra club Photo, 2510 Horton Avenue, San Diego, CA. 92101 c/o Everett Mehner. Annual membership is $25 and includes a subscription to our newsletter, The ViewFinder. Everyone is welcome at our meetings, member or not, free.
