Hike along Airplane Ridge and Pine Ridge, gaining slightly more than 1000 ft. Bring water, lunch and hiking shoes. Meet 9 am at Hwy 79 Sweetwater Bridge lot in Cuyamaca Park 0.4 miles north of Green Valley Cmpgnd, Thomas 1216 F2. MV (south of Bank of America) carpool meets at 7:45. If going directly to trailhead or for information, contact leader. Rain or drizzle cancels.

Hike from Black Canyon Road to beautiful Pamo Valley. Meet 9:00 am. From Hwy 67 in Ramona go north on Hwy 78 (Pine St) for 2.2 miles. Right on Haverford Rd for 1 mile, left on Pamo Rd. for 3 miles. Car shuttle to the trailhead from there. Bring lunch, water and Adventure Pass. Carpools: Mission Valley and Los Coches 8:00 am. Heavy rain cancels.

STANLEY PEAK AT DALEY RANCH

A brisk hike up to the recently dedicated Stanley Peak addition to Daley Ranch. Enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of the upper Escondido Creek watershed. Meet at the upper end of La Honda (off of East El Norte Parkway, in Escondido) for 9:00 am departure. This is a joint Escondido Creek Conservancy outing.

WILDFLOWER TREK/SANTA ROSA PRESERVE

Annual wildflower trek in Santa Rosa Preserve, Riverside County. Open views of the Spanish saw, with San Gorgonio and San Jacinto on a clear day. Lunch at historic Machado adobe house. Take I-15 10 miles past Temecula and exit west on Clinton Keith Rd. Continue 6 miles, sharp 90 deg turn on Tenaja Rd, continue to dirt parking lot. Meet 9:30. $2.00 per person fee. Rain cancels.

Hike in the Cuyamacas. Observe fire recovery and views to south and east. Bring water, lunch, comfortable hiking boots or shoes. Meet 9 am at Hwy 79 lot 1.1 miles north of Park Headquarters, Thomas 1216 F2. Mission Valley (south of Bank America) car pool meets 7:45. Rain or drizzle cancels.

A ranger will lead us on Volcan Mtn and interpret the history and biology of this area. Inclusion of the mountain is essential to the proposed open space corridor along the length of the San Diego River. Meet 9:00 at the trailhead. Take any route to Julian. At intersection of 78 and Main in the heart of town, take Farmers Rd 2 miles to right on Wynola Rd and quick turn on Farmers Rd. Rain cancels. Carpool-Mission Valley at 8:00.

Meet at the parking turnout at mile 3.7 along Hwy 79 in Cuyamaca State Park. Lunch atop the peak for a panoramic view of the Cuyamacas’ southern reaches, making the hike well worthwhile. We’ll discuss how the chapter’s conservation programs tie into the outings program at lunch. Please bring $3 donation for ConsCom, and the ten essentials.
